Posted on April 28, 2019

COMPFEST, Depok – Hello Igniters! On Friday (26/4) at Perpustakaan Pusat Universitas  Indonesia, a COMPFEST seminar entitled “Maximize Entrepreneurship and Marketing Through Creative Ideas” was held by Rhein Mahatma as the Founder of Buattokoonline.id and Co-founder of Startupbisnis.com and Hendra Tjanaka as CEO of Mapan (GOJEK Group). This seminar was also moderated by Nisrina Firyal Fadhlanissa as the Creative Content at Creativepreneur Event Creator. Although the new seminar began at 2:40 p.m., the participants began to arrive at 1:00 p.m. to attend the opening ceremony.

The first seminar was brought by Hendra Tjanaka, CEO of Mapan. It started with him introducing what is Mapan. Mapan is a startup where they have a vision to help access families’ low income to become established. The way Mapan embodies it all, one of them is through Arisan Mapan. Arisan Mapan is a social gathering service that helps and makes it easy for the Chair of Arisan and other people around him to buy quality and affordable items together.

Then, Kak Hendra explained that in order for us to succeed in entrepreneurship we must apply in ourselves that “we’re obsessed with problems” because entrepreneurship is about being obsessed with problems. From there, there will be many questions arising from ourselves and trigger us to issue creative ideas as a solution. We can also get inspiration from the people we help or people who work with us.

The seminar was continued by Rhein Mahatma, Founder of buattokoonline.id and Co-founder of Startupbisnis.com. Since 2009, he has interviewed more than 100 startup founders and Venture Capital. He applied what he learned from them to build their own business or help other people’s businesses. Kak Rhein explained that the average problem of people who want to become entrepreneurs is “I have no budget” and “I have no time”. He also explained that Google with its longtail character can provide large organic traffic for many small players and in his experience, more businesses that build longtails or traffic from Google do not fail than those who do not build longtails.

Then, Kak Rhein also explained the difference between startups and SMEs where more startups are in big problem solving while SMEs are only concerned with selling. Besides that there are still many differences from startups and SMEs. Not only the differences between startups and SMEs, he also explained the differences in search engines and social media where we can decide when we should choose to sell through social media and when through search engines.

The seminar continued with a question and answer session. In this session, many seminar participants were enthusiastic about asking to fulfill their curiosity. After the question and answer session ended, the event was continued with the giving of conclusion from Kak Firyal, then ended with the submission of placards and a group photo. With the end of this seminar, it does not mean that COMPFEST ends because there are many other exciting events. Don’t miss the excitement of the next COMPFEST! (Editorial Marketing/Edina)
