How To Choose Between Wireless and Wired Charging?
Posted on May 15, 2019

Wireless charging has been around for several years and is increasingly popular. Wireless charging, which used to be a special feature, is now standard on many smartphones. For years, Apple was the most well-known company of wireless charger makers and with the arrival of the iPhone X with its wireless charging capabilities, it’s natural to say this capability has really taken off.

Although wireless charging is beneficial in many situations, it is not always useful at all times. The choice between using a wireless charger or wired charger depends on the needs of each individual. Simply put, the wired charger is about speed and the wireless charger is about convenience.

Wired charging is better when you don’t have a lot of time

If you want to get the most power for your cellphone as soon as possible, use a wired charger. If you are using a relatively new smartphone, you must use a fast USB-C PD charger that is paired with a USB-C cable. The rounded USB-C port quickly replaces the USB-A port you have been relying on for years and they can offer more power for faster charging. How fast depends on the cellphone you use. Another benefit of wired charging is that you can use your phone for a long time while it is charging.

Wireless chargers are simpler but slower

Even though wireless charging is slower, they offer different types of convenience: they are easy to use. One of the great benefits of wireless charging is how easy it is to just put the cellphone in the Qi pads and get power. No need to grope in the dark or turn on the lights to find a cable. Instead of looking for the right cable and outlet at several angles, we will only look for the right surface and the known Qi logo to turn on our cellphone.

Wired charger is easier to carry

Even though some wireless charger pads are small enough to fit into your suitcase or bag, it’s not the same as just wrapping the cable and tucking it in when travelling. The wired charger also gives you more freedom to use the cellphone on the bed while charging.

Wireless charger has an attractive design

Wireless chargers can be made into lights, tables, chairs.  The top layer can be made of different materials such as cork, wood, marble, leather, and many more that can be adjusted to the taste of each user. This makes it the perfect choice to put in your home because you can choose a design that fits your home decor. (Editorial Marketing / Edina)
