The internet is now a daily necessity for people all over the world. People who have access to the internet enjoy many benefits compared to people who do not have access to the internet. Now it has become a vital requirement to be able to operate devices and use the internet. The basic skills needed for any job today are using the computer and searching for something online.

The use of the internet has increased productivity, opened up fields of knowledge, and provided everything we wanted. The internet is such a vast space that if we think about something and look for it, chances are we will find information about it. The problem that can arise is that the available data comes without filters.

Does the Internet Need Censorship?

Information about all things is easily available online. Very often advertisements and pop-ups appear with graphic content. Sometimes, what we are looking for does not match what we want. For example, when we are looking for social topics, some links actually lead us to some pornographic content.

This happens too often. Some websites provide misleading titles to collect traffic. The internet needs to be censored because it is not difficult for innocent people to find content that is abusive, questionable, shocking, or graphic on a website. Some websites forcing people to consume pornographic content should be banned.

Reasons for Internet Censorship

Censoring sexual, violent or traumatic content that is harmful to everyone involved can be very important. By censoring data, our personal and confidential data can be kept safe. Malicious sites will be blocked which will ensure the security of sensitive data.

Children become lazy because of excessive internet use. With sensors, data will be limited and restricted. They will not be able to download malicious software or access dangerous websites. Some websites have a violent nature that causes people to experience trauma. For example, certain parts of the web called the red area contain websites that have explicit or violent actions live streamed. They can make people traumatized or aggressive. Internet censorship will disable such websites for access.

By censoring the internet, there will be less abuse by anonymous people. Nowadays, people abuse each other anonymously for mere pleasure. Internet censorship does not preclude any freedom. It just maps the virtual world with real-life ethics.
