On Saturday, September 28, 2019, COMPFEST held a seminar with the theme Boost Your Experience Limit Through Mixed Reality. COMPFEST invited speakers who are experts and experienced in the AR/VR field, Andes Rizky (Founder & Managing Director at Shinta VR) and Roger Fatah (Project Manager at MINAR), also Dicky R Iskandar (Head of Community VARCODE (Virtual & Augmented Reality Community Developer) as the moderator. Mr. Andes and Mr. Roger explained that AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and MR (Mixed Reality) will play a huge role in Industrial Revolution 4.0. “Besides increasing technology, it also decreases in price. It can be seen that VR has developed and matured, “said Mr. Andes. Mr. Andes and Mr. Roger took time to demonstrate some of the existing AR / VR types. According to Mr. Roger, we can apply this reality in the fields of health, automotive, education, sports and games. Some lucky participants also got the chance to experience AR / VR themselves.
COMPFEST had the opportunity to interview Mr. Andes and Mr. Roger about AR / VR. When asked about how influential AR / VR in Indonesia is, Mr. Andes and Mr. Roger both agreed that they want to increase awareness about AR / VR in Indonesia, especially among students. According to Mr. Andes, the development of AR / VR technology in the business world is also very good. “We always try to educate Indonesians about AR, VR because we have entered Industry 4.0 and Society 4.0, so don’t miss it,” said Mr.Roger.
Mr. Andes began to be interested in the VR world since 2013. According to him, this field is a good blend of the engineering and artistic world. According to Mr. Roger, using technology with creativity is one of his passions.
After sharing AR / VR at COMPFEST, Kak Roger hopes that Indonesians can be more aware of this AR / VR technology, while Mr. Andes wanted to increase students’ interest in the AR / VR world.
When asked about the impression and messages for COMPFEST, Mr. Roger hopes that in the following years COMPFEST can grow. Mr. Andes added that in the future COMPFEST could improve and invite other industries to collaborate in the future. (EDM / Sarah)
